SKOSH Cafe – Japanese-inspired food in Bugis

SKOSH cafe is a hidden gem serving Japanese-inspired food in Bugis. Tucked away within the creative halls of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), this minimalist cafe feels like a breath of fresh air. The relaxed vibes, balanced by a light wooden decor provide the space with a peaceful atmosphere.

The menu at SKOSH cafe specifically contains a Japanese soul paired with a contemporary fusion flair. The brunch menu has some vegetarian options that are evidently mushroom-focused. This is available from 11 AM on weekdays and from 10 AM on weekends. They also have a dinner menu served from 5 PM daily.

The crunchy cauliflower florets drenched with the Gochujang glaze are delicious. The sweet and savory taste of the cauli-pops lingers just enough surprisingly. They are definitely small bites to keep munching.

Chazuke is a Japanese tea-soaked rice which evokes a sense of warmth with clean flavors. Treat it like a umami-packed vegetarian meal option that is healthy. This bowl has crispy silken tofu, edamame, sautéed mushrooms, furikake, roasted sesame seeds, mixed grains and Shio koji broth. You can add the broth quantity as you mix the ingredients in the bowl and consume it subsequently.

The earthy depth of the truffled cream plays well with the light and bouncy feel of the noodles. It’s a savory dish that felt like a gourmet treat. The description of the dish in the menu does not mention eggs, so be sure to mention it while placing the order. I don’t consume eggs in the raw form and once I informed the staff, they were kind enough to replace it straightaway. And then, I missed clicking a picture once the dish was served without the egg on the top.

Apart from the classic lattes, SKOSH’s drink menu offers quite a few specialty beverages. The coffees hit the right notes and we tried the ones with alternate milk options.
The all-inclusive nett pricing option undeniably makes it budget friendly in the Bugis area. If you are in the area during dinner time, there are additional vegetarian mains during that timing. The Japanese-inspired food in Bugis at this cafe makes it a good place to meet friends and surely get a happy vibe.
