Pazonia Italian Street food – Sourdough pizzas at Amoy Street

When you feel a whiff of the streets of Italy in the heart of CBD, you know there is some fantastic Italian street food somewhere nearby. Pazonia Italian Street food have opened their second outlet serving authentic sourdough pizzas at Amoy street. Their first outlet is at Raffles Place in Singapore. They are perfect for a quick, high-quality takeaway which is a savior for the CBD crowd.
We visited Pazonia at dinner time and it had an unpretentious charm of a neighborhood trattoria in Italy. It had warm lighting, neatly printed menus, and efficient customer service.
Pazonia serves vegetarian options across their entire menu—including sourdough pizzas, traditional paninis, fresh salads, pastas, and melted-cheese calzones. Their signature Panuozzo, a folded sourdough pizza sandwich, stands out as a rare find in the Singapore food scene.

The Caprese salad is simple, fresh, and authentic. It’s made of fresh bufala, arugula, sliced tomatoes with basil, balsamic glaze and EVOO. The ingredients shine through and the glaze is amazing. This salad acts as a palate cleanser in between the sourdough breads. Highly recommended.

It’s always nice when a kitchen nails the simple and classic Margherita pizza. The sourdough base that is fermented inhouse methodically has a light and airy texture. The fresh basil enhances the taste and I’d highly recommend this pizza.

The Pazonia Pizza was our second pick. Instead of the standard tomato sauce, this pizza has a robust Arrabbiata sauce as its foundation. The mozzarella and feta along with a bit of spice gives the pizza a fiery kick. The gentle charred-ness in the pizzas work wonders for the overall taste.

This spaghetti is cooked to a perfect al dente, retaining that essential Italian bite. The pasta is infused with a generous amount of garlic, olive oil and fiery chili flakes along with a scatter of fresh parley. This is easily one of the best Aglio Olios that I have had in long time. Highly recommended.

There is no skimping on the coffee in this Tiramisu. The texture of the dessert is soft and above all retains its shape. Basically think of this dessert as something a nonna would be making sweetly in her kitchen.

A bignè is the Italian cousin to the French choux pastry (think cream puff). It was especially refreshing to see some different Italian desserts apart from the usual ones on the menu. The warm shell has a cold scoop of vanilla ice cream inside it. The temperature contrast brings the authenticity of Italian street food to the forefront.
Pazonia Italian street food has done the basics right, elevating the traditional dishes with quality ingredients. They are serving sourdough pizzas at Amoy Street along with other Italian dishes and are budget-friendly. Since this is a small and popular place, advance reservations is certainly recommended. I’ll definitely head there again. If you are a fan of Italian cuisine, bookmark this place instantly.
