Into the Woods – Themed cafe with aesthetic charm

My escapade to the Yio Chu Kang neighborhood led me to this cafe with a wonderful aesthetic charm. Into the Woods Cafe is tucked away in the residential area of Seletar, and serves as an ideal spot for relaxation. Upon entering the cafe, as the name suggests, you’ll instantly notice the woods / forest theme with fairy lights, vines, and reindeer portraits.

The spacious layout allows for comfortable seating and there is an instant appeal in the ambiance of the cafe. It is also a work-friendly location, if you want to dodge the hustle and bustle. As soon as we entered the cafe, the staff was attentive and seated us immediately.

From a vegetarian’s perspective, the menu has some hits and misses. There are options in the beverages, soups, and light bites sections but not in the mains. There are more desserts than savory options, especially if you don’t consume eggs in the raw or cooked forms.

Firstly, we ordered the Snacky Palette from the menu which a timed offering from 3 PM – 5 PM. The items were high-tea based, with four unique options on the board – scones, chocolate tartlets, lemon tartlets and mini egg mayo bites. We inquired if we could substitute the egg mayo bites with any of the other pieces and the cafe mentioned that they would not be able to cater such requests. The scones and the lemon tartlets were delicious and paired well with the beverages.

French fries act as the go-to comfort food to munch on a rainy afternoon in Singapore. You get to choose one of their two dips while ordering the fries and we tried the sriracha dip which packed quite the punch.

Apart from their standard menu, the cafe served some fresh bakes at the counter which were at least varied. The Lemon slice cake was not overly sweet and definitely good as a teatime snack.

I was looking to elevate my afternoon outing and ordered the Rose Mocha because it seemed interesting. The coffee was creamy, rich, subtly fragrant, and hit all the right notes, which made it worth ordering. There are also non-caffeinated options, if you are looking for a refreshing beverage.

Based on your appetite, a meal for two at this cafe with aesthetic charm would set you back by $40. If you are in the Seletar area and looking for a hidden gem, then Into the Woods is a nice place to unwind in a quiet atmosphere.
