Wild Child Pizzette – Neapolitan style pizzas in Boat Quay

Singapore has a staggering number of pizza joints. Yet, I am constantly eager to try different pizzas that are well-done and showcase new ideas. Wild Child Pizzette by the Cicheti group is a restaurant serving Neapolitan style pizzas in Boat Quay. It’s a 35-seater restaurant with a warm and cosy vibe that is quite welcoming.

The menu is simple and has starters, pizzas, pastas and drinks. I liked that the menu was straight to the point, sticking to the authentic quality of the ingredients.

When we are talking about vegetarian pizzas, a well-done Margherita pizza is not to be missed. The pizzas are made from two stages of fermentation lasting over 60 hours. The wood-fired oven definitely plays a part in lending a smoky flavour to the pizzas.

If you are looking for a traditional pizza done right, then go for the Napoletana! The pizza is topped with crushed tomato sauce, basil, oregano and sliced garlic. The pizzas in general have a light and airy texture.

This is possibly the most wholesome Spaghetti that you can order for dinner. The pasta has almond pesto sauce, pine nuts and stracciatella cheese. Even though this was a simple and delicious dish, and all the ingredients shined through in it.

This turned out to be the best pecan tart in Singapore among my foodie hunts. The brown sugar bourbon pecan filling enclosed in a short-crust pastry shell along with caramel sauce was delectable. The gelato pairing on the side was genius and enhanced the dish. Highly recommended.

The classic tiramisu had espresso, Savoiardi biscuit, Frangelico and cocoa powder. The coffee moistened biscuits added to the texture and the liqueur was gently present in the dessert.

The place is popular for smaller group sizes, typically around 2-4 pax. The service is prompt and the kitchen gets busy during meal times. Wild Child Pizzette definitely serves good pizzas in Boat Quay along with other vegetarian options in Italian cuisine.
